Commons:Stock.xchng images
Images sourced from Stock.xchng (sxc.hu) are not allowed on Wikimedia Commons, unless they are explicitly licensed under a free license. Preferably those permissions are recorded by the Volunteer Response Team. All Stock.xchng image that have not been independently released under a free license have been subject to deletion since 1 July 2007. Any images sourced from Stock.xchng that were uploaded since 29 December 2005 should be deleted.

Images from Stock.xchng uploaded to Wikimedia Commons past 29. December 2005 are only allowed at Wikimedia Commons if the authors gave a written permission (preferably via email at permissions@wikimedia.org) even if the images were tagged with "no restrictions" or similar and even if there is somewhere a note about an accepted free license (like GFDL, CC-BY and CC-BY-SA) on the SXC user page of the author (SXC doesn't enable uploaders selecting CC and/or other standard licenses directly at upload). This is due to the change of the legal disclaimer of SXC that does at least apply to all images on SXC website if they are tagged with "no restrictions":
- SELLING AND REDISTRIBUTION OF THE IMAGE (INDIVIDUALLY OR ALONG WITH OTHER IMAGES) IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN! DO NOT SHARE THE IMAGE WITH OTHERS!
So this new policy overrides the old policy that did allow images out of SXC that were tagged with "no restrictions" tag.
- So all images uploaded past 26. June 2006 will be tagged {{subst:nld}} and will be deleted if the uploader didn't provide a written permission of the copyright owner within 7 days.
- Images from SXC uploaded between 29. December 2005 and 26. June 2006 are currently reviewed by User:Gmaxwell (he will contact all copyright owners of these files); see User:Gmaxwell/sxc list for a complete list of affected files.
- Images from SXC prior to 29. December 2005 will be decided upon later.
