File:"Anchor & Star" (1918) by John Philip Sousa, performed by the U.S. Marine Band directed by Col. Jason K. Fettig.ogg renaming[edit]
Harmonizing categories is forbidden; Criterion #4 is dedicated only for sets (one subject, one day, one author), one photo divided into many parts (Thames 1/100; Thames 2/100, etc.), Wikisource's books or for templates (BSicon and others). Remember: „Just because images share a category does not mean that they are part of a set.” In such a case you can use Criterion #2 (meaningless name) or #3 (error, mistake). - @Wieralee: Thank you for the clarification! I would have thought that songs from a single album (The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa, Volume 5 by the United States Marine Band) counted as a set; is that not the case? —CalendulaAsteraceae (talk • contribs) 02:26, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
- It is not necessary for songs from the same album to have the same name or the same order of words in the name: "Files should NOT be renamed only because the new name looks a bit better." Wieralee (talk) 18:25, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Wieralee: Makes sense. Is making different formats of the same file (e.g. OGG and MP3 versions of an audio recording) have the same name except for the extension a valid reason for a move? —CalendulaAsteraceae (talk • contribs) 00:13, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- There aren't such rules on Commons:File renaming page. Wieralee (talk) 00:25, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
